Better Late Than Never

The crew has been on the boards since the middle of May. We've been on 7 large fires so far this summer and 6 small fires on the Forest. We've just come back from mandatory days off after being in Yosemite NP and the Lassen NF.

The New Hotshot Building

The Klamath Hotshots have finally moved into their new building! Things have changed around "The Knoll" over the past year.

Where the old volleyball court used to stand, there's now a parking lot. You can see our new building behind that.

On the north side of the building is the new volleyball court. It's a work in progress.

The new saw shop and welding room sit next to the old barn, which is slated to be torn down in the near future.

The new Hotshot office, in all its glory.

Inside the office, the Klamath Hotshots are hard at work.

Johnny is just getting settled in to his new office.

There's a room on the north end of the building where each crewmember has his or her own locker.

Also on the north end of the building is a state of the art training room. As you can see it is also a work in progress.

As we get settled in to the new building, we're working out all the kinks and hope to get things running smoothly soon. Regardless of all the little quirks of the new place, we're very excited to finally be moved in.

Back on base

After a busy summer between Montana, Southern California and Northern California, the Klamath Hotshots are back on base awaiting further assignment. We're experiencing rain, and plenty of it.
